Apply Keck Medicine of USC Hospital Arcadia, California The Back Office Supervisor performs complex administrative and clinical tasks, serving as a contact for physicians, staff, and outside departments to address issues. Assists in managing clinical unit operations, supervises clinical staff including Medical Assistants, LVNs, and RNs, and reports to the Manager or Director. Essential Duties: Supervises clinical staff, manages personnel actions, including evaluations, time-off, disciplinary actions, hiring, and termination. Acts as a primary contact for physicians, staff, and external departments to resolve issues. Creates daily room and staff assignments and arranges staff coverage. Trains clinical staff to ensure compliance with hospital policies. Oversees special programs such as USC Workers Compensation, Hepatitis B, TB Testing, Remote Coumadin Monitoring, and Medical Surveillance. Communicates effectively with staff, monitors pending items, and follows up as needed. Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are stocked and maintained. Promotes safety, reports unsafe situations, and responds to emergencies. Participates in evaluating patient care quality and provides performance feedback. Maintains a safe, infection-controlled environment. Recognizes patient condition changes and notifies physicians/nursing staff. Triages patient phone calls, providing guidance per protocols under physician supervision. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, LVN, or RN program. Experience in office management and administration. Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong organizational skills and commitment to patient care and customer service. Excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Licenses/Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), LVN, or RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire if applicable. The annual salary range is $68,640 - $112,370, based on experience and other factors.
