RN PRN, Supervisor Nursing Operations, Varies at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Role involves administrative leadership and coordination of nursing operations on a PRN/part-time basis with a focus on staffing, capacity management, and patient flow. Responsibilities
Ensure administrative continuity to staff, patients, and families while acting as a liaison for the hospital executive on call and the patient care services management team. Collaborate with Nursing Management and Nursing Staffing Office to lead appropriate nursing staff placement during assigned hours. Analyze trends in resource utilization and recommend changes to the Nursing Director and/or Nurse Manager. Provide consultation to ensure timely placement of patients in coordination with Admitting Office, Bed Management, Clinics, and patient care areas. Conduct Daily Debriefings (including weekends and holidays). Escalate capacity management as needed and communicate outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to resolve clinical/operational issues. Work with Hospitalists in a co-management model to facilitate throughput. Serve as a resource for policies, standards, and performance issues; provide disciplinary counsel as appropriate and communicate with the Nurse Manager and/or Nursing Director. Ensure patient care quality, compliance, and regulatory standards; initiate resolution actions and notify the Nurse Manager/Nursing Director for follow-up. Act as on-site liaison for Hospital Administrator on-call and communicate with Communications/Marketing regarding patients or situations of interest to the media. Model effective communication and professionalism; serve as liaison for Service Excellence issue resolution. Promote a biogenic environment that supports ongoing professional development consistent with Shared Governance, Caring Science, and professional practice. Ensure hospital disaster plans and policies are followed and coordinate related activities as needed. Represent the Chief Nursing Officer/Directors of Nursing with on-site operational and clinical leadership after normal business hours. Qualifications
Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN, BS, or MSN required. Master’s degree in a related field preferred. Three years of acute care nursing experience (Emergency, Medical-Surgical, or Critical Care) and three years of supervisory or leadership experience required. Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in the applicable state. Certification within one year of hire. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. ACLS or PALS may be required within one year.
