Identify suppliers to meet immediate R&D testing and development needs
Communicate and drive material availability for on-site engineering prototyping
Coordinate closely with engineering to collaboratively align on component requirements and specifications
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure supplier alignment during product design and prototyping stages.
Drive early supplier engagement to align component sourcing with product specs, prototyping needs, and long-term scalability.
Work with engineering and supply chain to identify scalable mass production suppliers of R&D components
Anticipate, identify, and mitigate materials-related issues
Establish and streamline business processes related to manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
5 - 8 years of sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment with strong focus on NPI and electromechanical components.
Proven success working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, product development lifecycle.
In-depth understanding of electromechanical component manufacturing (motors, sensors, wire harnesses, sheet metal, PCBs, etc.).
Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOMs, and change management (ECOs, AVL).
Experience managing prototype builds and scaling supplier support from development to production.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP and sourcing tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Arena, Agile).
Nice to have:
Experience working with suppliers in Asia, Eastern Europe, and North America.
APICS, PMP, or Six Sigma certification.
Ability to communicate technical requirements and collaborate with design engineers.
Master’s or MBA is a plus
