Job Summary: We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented

Non-Sterile & Hazardous Compounding Technician

to join our compounding team. This role involves the accurate preparation of both non-hazardous and hazardous compounded medications, including

troches, creams, ointments, gels, nasal sprays, oral solutions and suspensions and rapid dissolve tablets (RDTs) . The technician must be proficient in USP

and

standards and capable of working in accordance with safety protocols and pharmacy regulations. Accurately compound customized non-sterile medications based on master formulation records. Prepare a variety of dosage forms including troches, creams, ointments, gels, nasal sprays, oral drops, solutions, suspensions, and Rapid Dissolve Tablets (RDTs). Handle and compound hazardous drugs (HDs) in compliance with USP

guidelines. Perform cleaning, decontamination, and garbing procedures in designated non-sterile hazardous areas. Maintain clean and organized compounding workspaces, adhering to cross-contamination prevention protocols. Accurately document all compounding processes and batch records. Operate and maintain compounding equipment such as balances, homogenizers, and mixers. Work collaboratively with the pharmacist and QA team to ensure batch accuracy and quality control. Assist in inventory control and proper storage and labeling of raw materials, hazardous components, and finished products. Participate in internal audits and training updates to stay current with USP and OSHA regulations. Quality Control Perform quality checks at each stage of the compounding process to verify dosage accuracy and product integrity. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines, including USP

for non-sterile compounding and USP

for hazardous drug compounding. Documentation Record all compounding activities in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed logs of ingredient batches, expiration dates, and patient-specific information. Sanitation and Safety Compliance Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized workspace, performing routine cleaning of tools, equipment, and the compounding area. Train, mentor, and oversee junior technicians on proper techniques, calculations, and protocols. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including USP

, OSHA, and internal SOPs. Coordinate with QA, Pharmacists, and Inventory teams to ensure timely and accurate production. Maintain accurate documentation for compounding, cleaning logs, equipment calibration, and inventory usage. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and internal audits. Qualifications Fluent in English; bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a non-sterile compounding environment, including handling hazardous drugs. Proven ability to compound a wide range of dosage forms accurately and efficiently. Strong knowledge of USP

and

requirements, including HD safety protocols. High level of attention to detail and precision. Excellent understanding of safe handling, PPE usage, and containment practices for hazardous drugs. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficient in pharmaceutical calculations and measurement accuracy. Ability to follow complex instructions and SOPs. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Proven experience in preparing a variety of dosage forms including RDTs, nasal sprays, and semi-solid formulations. Additional Skills (Preferred) Ongoing continuing education in non-sterile compounding highly desirable. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems. Experience in a compounding pharmacy or healthcare environment. Environment and Physical Demands Requires the ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, and problem solve. Requires prolonged standing. Requires use of compounding equipment such as balances, pH meters, high-shear mixers, blenders, and ovens. Normal vision range required. Infrequent lifting of up to 15 pounds. Work Schedule This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), 100% on-site position based in Miami Gardens (remote or hybrid work is not available). Shift hours: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Overtime hours may be offered from time to time.
