Overview
This position is at the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System. The Neuropsychologist/Geropsychologist will perform duties within the Community Living Center and the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. Program eligibility : This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with the VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount is up to $200,000 and the eligibility period is one to five years; these details are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Duties
As an outpatient provider, the incumbent provides neuropsychological and psychological evaluations, psychological services, and consults with peers, medical center staff, the polytrauma team, geriatric mental health team, and others as appropriate. Responsibilities include the full range of neuropsychological status evaluations, assessments, and diagnosis using accepted procedures and test instruments. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through various modalities, provide adjunctive interventions for medical disorders, and may conduct research Independently provide specialized psychological services at all levels of complexity for patients with psychological difficulties, including intake evaluation, treatment planning, diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and patient education Provide direct patient contact including neuropsychological assessment and treatment planning, individual psychotherapy/assessment sessions, and family/caregiver stress therapy sessions Provide neuropsychological status evaluation and participate as a consultant in outpatient and inpatient multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment activities Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues as warranted Be available for involvement with training and/or clinical supervision as needed Provide education to patients, family members, and significant others as needed Provide supervision of trainees conducting direct clinical care, as appropriate based on licensure Participate in peer review processes Timely completion of clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system Attend regularly scheduled treatment team meetings and trainings to ensure efficiency and continuity of service delivery to a specialized client population Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (or per service needs) Incentives and Benefits

Parental Leave : Up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave after 12 months of employment for birth, adoption, or foster care placement. Child Care Subsidy : After 60 days of employment, eligible employees with total family income below $144,000 may receive up to 25% of eligible childcare costs (up to a monthly max of $416.66). Alternatives include a re-specialization path or a historical degree path with appropriate internship and board certification requirements as specified. Internships:

Full, current, unrestricted psychology license in the U.S. or a temporary, supervised license where allowed. English language proficiency and ongoing licensure maintenance are required. Grandfathering and grade determinations follow VA qualification standards; the full performance level is GS-13, with the actual grade determined by experience and demonstrated KSA performance. Education Note : Only degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions may be used for federal employment. Foreign education requires evaluation and documentation.
