Overview

Clinical Nurse II - UCI Health Chapman Psychiatry - FT Days. The Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at UC Irvine Health offers a full spectrum of psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults, including inpatient, outpatient, partial-hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. The Clinical Nurse II provides clinical triage, navigation, and support for behavioral health programs, and collaborates with administrative and clinical leadership to ensure timely, coordinated, and personalized care. The nurse also serves as a clinical resource for staff and helps facilitate communication among care providers. Responsibilities

Provide clinical triage, navigation, and support for behavioral health programs Assist with procedures, patient education, outpatient and post-treatment discharge Apply psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills in patient/family/significant other care planning, intervention, and evaluation Collaborate with administrative and clinical leadership to ensure timely, coordinated, and personalized care throughout the patient journey Act as a clinical resource for staff and help facilitate communication among care providers Qualifications

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Customer service skills appropriate to the job Moderate sedation experience Minimum of six months nursing experience Minimum 1 year experience working with pediatric patients Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and infection control techniques Current California RN license All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Licenses and Certifications
