Position Summary
Join our staff of 9 veterinarians in providing laboratory animal medical services for the research staff at Washington University’s AAALAC-accredited program.
The Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) is engaged in an exciting growth phase having recently occupied a new $616M neuroscience research facility with a state-of-the-art vertical vivarium design and the capacity to hold over 30,000 cages of rodents. Additionally, our entire biomedical research program continues to grow in size and funding for support of our existing programs in large animal, non-human primate, rodent medicine, surgery, model development, and laboratory diagnostics.
For this position, we are seeking an applicant with an interest in laboratory animal medicine in a large, private, research-oriented medical school setting. They should have the flexibility/interest to learn new skills, enjoy working collaboratively with others, and be motivated to develop themselves as an essential contributor to our research program.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide veterinary medical care and surgical services to research animals. Provide regulatory Compliance, protocol review, and IACUC participation. Provide animal model development and consultation with research staff. Supervision of technical staff. Assist with facility management within their assigned facility. Perform other duties as assigned.

Typically sitting at desk or table. Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement.
