Base pay range

$78,500.00/yr - $192,500.00/yr

Job Description

Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of any efforts and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.

Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and gain calls to action to close on every sales call.

Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.

Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.

Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease state, product, and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.

Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.

Relevant equivalent industry experience is required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.

Proven leadership, solid presentation skills, strong business acumen, and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.

Ability to adapt selling style to customer behavior and operate effectively in a matrix environment.

Preferred: proven sales success in the respective therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.

Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.

English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking regions).

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; safe driving requirements.

Ability to travel to cover territory and attend training events and sales meetings (overnight as needed).

Health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to enter facilities and organizations within the territory; responsibility to satisfy all credentialing requirements with AbbVie support available.

Key Stakeholders

External: Specialty Physicians in the therapeutic brand area, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan. Internal: In-field team members, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, & Brand Plan stakeholders.

Additional Information

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation for this role. Individual compensation will depend on geographic location and other factors.
