What We Offer Acute Care Clincial Pharmacist - PRN

Shift: 1st shift 7am-3:30pm or 2nd shift 1pm-9:30pm; including weekends, every 4th weekend rotation

Essential functions

Flexibility in working in acute care capacities with adults and pediatrics (ICN, PICU, general peds)

Facilitates pharmaceutical care services, medication utilization systems within assigned services and care areas to ensure drug utilization activities are aligned with patient care needs, evidence-based best practices and regulatory standards

Completes critical patient monitoring and reviews patient profile/ chart to identify, prevent, or mitigate drug-related problems

Partners as an active member of multidisciplinary team and collaborates with healthcare providers within decentralized patient care areas to provide patient-centered care

Makes appropriate evidence-based, patient-centered medication recommendations

Participates in the management of medical emergencies for adult and pediatric patients

Provides discharge medication review, reconciliation, and counseling as appropriate

Maintains proficiency in and actively engages in central dispensing functions and operational programs

Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities

Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively emulates education/mentorship skills

Qualifications

Education:

4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification

PharmD, preferred.

Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.

Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification, required.

Additional Skills (required): Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
