SR. TECHNICIAN - TECHNICIAN - Chemistry Lab Technician
The Microencapsulation Section within the Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Division has over 70 years of experience in formulation, process development, and testing of microencapsulated products for a wide range of industries and controlled release applications. Role Objectives of this Role: Be part of a team whose function is to conduct formulation and process development, process scale up, and testing of nano- and microencapsulated products. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Maintain a safe, clean laboratory environment. Become experienced in microencapsulation processes to include spray drying, fluid bed coating, and emulsion-based techniques. Follow regulatory requirements such as CGMP manufacturing of drug products. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Operate and maintain laboratory and production equipment to include atomizers, coaters, freeze dryers, extruders, and mills. Assist in chemical laboratory to include: cleaning glassware, handling chemicals, preparing solutions, maintaining equipment, and waste management. Follow instructions, document experiments in laboratory notebooks, and relay technical information effectively. Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in the workplace as required and ensure lab operations are performed according to safety requirements. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Associates in chemistry or related area of science preferred but not required and may be considered in lieu of some work experience. 2 years: Experience in chemistry, biology, environmental, medical, pharmaceutical, or testing laboratory setting. 1 years: Comfortable with hand tools for disassembling / assembling and maintenance of equipment. A valid/clear driver's license is required. Special Requirements:
