Salary Range:

$21.44 - $33.16/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for maintaining a professional environment and fostering collaboration with patients and physicians. The MA will assist with non-clinical tasks to ensure smooth patient access and flow, including scheduling follow-up visits, imaging, lab work, and preparing necessary chart elements. The role also involves managing pre-authorization processes and acting as a liaison between providers and patients. The MA will work with staff to ensure all records are received and testing is completed before appointments or surgeries, providing updates on timing and status to staff and patients. The MA ensures patient flow and communication within Hoag and with referring physician offices. Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a Medical Assistant program or one year of previous medical back-office experience, preferably in an acute healthcare setting. Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field. At least one year of medical back-office experience, preferably in an acute healthcare setting. Working knowledge of EPIC or other EMR systems. Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates. Certifications Required Current BLS Certification. Certifications Preferred Medical Assistant Certification. CPR certification (required or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire). Current Limited Phlebotomy Certification.
