Overview We are seeking a full‑time veterinarian for our Vetco Total Care full‑service veterinary hospitals. Our hospital veterinarians live and breathe quality – in the pets they treat and the people they work with. They are supported by quality equipment, supportive leaders and a paraprofessional team encouraged to expand their skill sets as subject‑matter experts in dentistry, nutrition and more.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle and environment.

Utilize a problem‑based approach, developing a complete problem list for each patient and a diagnostic plan leading to confirmed or suspected diagnoses.

Document all patient observations, findings, treatments, medications and client interactions in the medical record.

Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal explorations and mass removals.

Perform routine and complex dental procedures, including full exams, radiographic evaluations, extractions and oral surgeries.

Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization patients, transition overnight care as needed and communicate with referral hospitals.

Participate in rounds at the beginning and end of shifts.

Disseminate knowledge throughout staff to improve patient care and communication.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an AVMA‑accredited school.

Active licensure as a veterinarian with no contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.

Current DEA license and Controlled Substance license (if applicable).

USDA Category I accreditation or completion within two months of hire.

Comfortable performing anesthesia, routine surgeries (spays, neuters, mass removals, dentals) and dental procedures.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compassionate, able to maintain a professional attitude during stressful situations.

Team player willing to learn new techniques and accept change.

Telephone and computer proficiency.

Work Environment The majority of duties are conducted in the Vetco Total Care full‑service hospital. Requirements include bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for long periods. A significant portion of time is spent in direct contact with clients and pets.
