Overview
This position provides engineering support to the design, development, and testing of a power system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. The role supports the development and integration of batteries and power distribution components, including updating battery models, supporting power system testing, conducting power analyses, analyzing data, reviewing Interface Control Documents (ICDs), verifying requirements, coordinating with other rocket system teams and the NASA customer, writing reports, and resolving issues. The candidate will work with other Power engineers to develop the system and ensure the design meets requirements.
Responsibilities
Update battery models and support power system testing.
Conduct power analyses and analyze data related to the power system.
Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and verify requirements.
Coordinate with other rocket system teams and the NASA customer.
Write reports and resolve issues to ensure the design meets requirements.
Collaborate with other Power engineers to develop the system and ensure on-time, compliant delivery.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
Minimum one year of experience with power systems, including batteries and/or power distribution
Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Experience with batteries and power distribution systems used to power rocket avionics
Experience with the systems engineering and integration process, from requirements development through product deployment
Active DoD secret clearance
