Overview Elite Surface Infrastructure (ESI) is a growing company located in Englewood, Colorado, and has been working along the Colorado front range since 1998. ESI performs a variety of services including Underground Utilities, Milling, Asphalt, Paving, Grading, Concrete, and Earthwork for infrastructure projects in the commercial, municipal, and federal sectors.
Position Summary Install underground pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Perform duties such as grading trenches by hand with a transit or pipe laser, inspecting pipe for defects, positioning pipe, and sealing joints. The ideal candidate will have wet utility experience; starting wage is determined based on experience.
Essential Functions
Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers.
Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
Setup or use instruments such as smart levels, lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
Train or supervise others in laying pipe.
Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement with hand tools or with the assistance of heavy equipment.
Cut pipes to required lengths.
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, glue, or soap.
Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems.
Dig trenches to required depths by hand or using trenching tools.
Grade or level trench bases using tamping machines or hand tools.
Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
Pour and finish concrete to create manhole bases or install prefabricated manhole bases, sections, cones, rings, and lids to required elevations.
Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
Operate walk-behind trench compaction equipment (plate compactors, rollers, jumping jacks).

Experience: 5 years related experience in field and office
Other Requirements: Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Able to access State & Federal facilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Outdoor work with varying weather conditions.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required: hard hat, eye and ear protection, safety vest, gloves, respirator or dust mask, fall protection gear, etc.
