Overview

As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Electrical Engineer will be responsible for assessing existing facilities and developing electrical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specifically, this role includes investigating, planning, design, and commissioning of existing facilities components and systems; facility electrical, lighting, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systems. The role requires coordination with other support disciplines and with regional offices, assisting project managers in the management of projects, and following quality assurance and quality control plans. Travel to project locations will be required. Responsibilities

Assess existing facilities components and systems Develop electrical designs in support of Buildings projects Investigate, plan, design, and commission facility electrical, lighting, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systems Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices Assist project managers in project management Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans Travel to project locations as required Abilities and attributes

Ability to communicate with and interact with building owner representatives and architectural clients Participate in client relations and project pursuits Knowledge of building components and systems Knowledge of electrical engineering and sustainability principles Utilize CAD and BIM design software to produce construction drawings Ability to perform electrical related calculations Utilize Microsoft Excel-based calculation tools for design calculations Manage multiple assignments concurrently Time management and product quality ownership Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans Engage in continuing education and learning based on project needs and team needs Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET-accredited institution Registered Professional Engineer (PE) 5 to 15 years of building design and construction industry experience Proven experience overseeing electrical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects Technically competent in building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and telecommunications systems Experience with Autodesk Revit Strong communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Skills
