Senior Electrical Engineer – Merrick & Company
Join Merrick & Company as a Senior Electrical Engineer supporting our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department across multiple locations including Greenwood Village, CO; Richmond, VA; Ellicott City, MD; Chattanooga, TN; and Tulsa, OK. This full‑time position offers a hybrid work schedule and relocation consideration.
Overview Typical annual pay range: $125,400 – $162,300. Pay varies based on experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do
May serve as project lead on major projects and/or lead several moderate scope projects with complex features.
Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
Analyze and approve the work of others and monitor team performance.
Conceptual and detailed design of low‑voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/PAC, HMI, process equipment, instrumentation.
Interact with clients, customers, officials, contractors and others.
Lead project meetings and make presentations.
Perform typical electrical calculations: voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, grounding.
Develop specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs.
Travel to client project sites to support field walk‑downs and as‑built efforts.
Monitor allocated resources to ensure work performed is within project estimates.
Work with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure project schedule met and documents completed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of twelve (12) years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in power, energy, oil and gas or other industrial process industries.
Experience developing one‑line drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical equipment specifications, power plans, conduit plans, cable schedules, etc.
Working knowledge of technical Codes and Standards: NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.
Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT or other design software.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited college is required.
PE License required.
Client projects require U.S. citizenship.
