Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and Data Powertrain Engine Calibration Engineer - Intermediate Job Summary Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for a Powertrain Engine Calibration Engineer – Intermediate for a contract position.

What You Will Do The BEV/eMotor Calibration Engineer supports calibration development for motor control in the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP), from first dyno through early mule vehicle to production on next‑generation Electrified Propulsion Systems. Responsibilities include application and optimization of control systems for all Hybrid and BEV Propulsion Systems, documenting and justifying all BEV/eMotor validation results and calibration changes via rigorous test plans on dyno and in vehicle, presenting results to lead calibrator and senior management, participating or leading the Center of Excellence team, coordinating validation test plans for calibration merges with other functional leads, supporting dyno commissioning and first‑run activities, executing thorough work breakdown structure, and post‑processing data to ensure calibration objectives are met. The engineer must be a team player, promoting team accomplishments over personal achievement.

Basics

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.

Minimum of 3 Years BEV/eMotor calibration experience.

Good oral and written communication skills, capable of working independently and with others.

High level of analytical ability and creativity.

Ability to balance work effectively on multiple issues.

Action disciplined test plan and verification process to ensure quality calibrations are released.

Must have strong knowledge of the Powertrain system.

Knowledge of control system development tools such as Matlab Simulink and GT Power.

Experience in Powertrain Control solutions development (powertrain control algorithms, On‑board Diagnostics/OBD, embedded software).

Knowledge of fundamentals of eMachines and Power Electronics and electrification power flow.

Experience in engine/transmission design and development and/or Powertrain Systems Engineering.

2 Years calibration experience in electrified propulsion or electric motor calibration.

Powertrain calibration experience (at least 1 year).

Knowledge of ETAS/INCA/Powertrain Calibration tools.Understanding of powertrain control systems and/or MATLAB, Simulink, C code.

Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.

100 % onsite position.

Driving of a vehicle required.

Some travelling might be required.

Preferred

Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related degree.

DFSS Green Belt.

Knowledge and working of electronic Parking system and its alignment.
