Professional Electrical Engineer (PE)
to join their team in Orlando, FL. The successful candidate will play an integral role in designing and managing electrical systems for
mixed-use residential developments , as well as commercial, hospitality, and institutional projects. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and clients. Travel to project sites may be required for inspections and coordination meetings. Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for
mixed-use residential and commercial buildings , ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Perform detailed design calculations and oversee electrical layouts, distribution systems, and power plans. Review, sign, and seal project documents as the responsible engineer of record. Prepare electrical equipment specifications and select appropriate systems, materials, and components. Respond to RFIs, review submittals, evaluate change orders, and assist during construction and commissioning phases. Conduct site observations and inspections to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, cost-effective, and innovative design solutions. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and budgets. Mentor and support junior engineers and designers within the team. Qualifications
5–10+ years of professional electrical engineering design experience in the building or construction industry. Must hold a valid Florida P.E. license and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EITs on track for licensure may also be considered). Proven experience with
mixed-use residential, multifamily, or hospitality
projects is required. Experience with commercial, institutional, or healthcare projects is a strong asset. Deep understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and relevant local regulations. Skilled in power distribution design, lighting systems, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems. Experience producing arc flash and protective device coordination studies preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, and MS Office. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Self-driven and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide mentorship to junior staff. How to apply
