Role Overview
As an
Associate - Senior Mechanical Engineer , you will take a leadership role in the design and coordination of mechanical systems for large-scale building projects. You’ll manage project deliverables from concept through construction, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a primary technical and client-facing representative. Key Responsibilities
Lead HVAC and mechanical system design for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments Develop design concepts, perform load calculations, and prepare system schematics and equipment layouts Coordinate closely with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration Oversee design documentation through all project phases (SD, DD, CD) Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits to verify installation and performance Mentor and supervise junior engineers, ensuring technical accuracy and professional growth Support project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication Contribute to internal initiatives focused on design innovation, technical standards, and sustainability Participate in business development efforts through proposal support and client presentations Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain 8–14 years of experience in mechanical building systems design Experience with high-rise, cultural, or institutional projects Strong technical knowledge of HVAC design and energy codes Familiarity with LEED, WELL, or other sustainability programs Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and load calculation software Experience with BIM coordination and advanced modeling tools Strong communication and organizational skills Prior client-facing experience and team leadership responsibilities Compensation & Benefits
Estimated Salary Range:
