Assist in the development of the powertrain and drive system integration for Scout pickup trucks and rugged SUVs (BEV/EREV). Contribute to the engineering vision and serve as a knowledge resource. Take ownership of requirements definition and function design. Calibrate and collaborate to create a Scout-specific driving experience, enabling other teams to contribute and implement their needs. Develop and optimize OBDII diagnostic calibration strategies to ensure regulatory compliance, including readiness monitors, fault detection thresholds, and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) logic. Perform data analysis and vehicle testing using tools such as INCA or MATLAB/Simulink to validate OBDII calibrations under various operating conditions and duty cycles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (powertrain controls, software development, validation, and regulatory compliance) to deliver robust, production-ready OBDII diagnostic systems. Liaise with the powertrain hardware and chassis tuning teams to provide technical input. Coordinate prototype and serial development activities related to software availability, calibration test trips, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting to support software releases. Partner with concept and systems architect teams to address engineering and functional challenges. Hands-on prototyping and building capability from initial operation to coordinating and implementing software. Engage in related tasks as required. Location & Travel
This role is based in Novi, Michigan. Role requires 3–4 days in the office with in-person meetings and events. Occasional in-person collaboration with Scout colleagues and travel to events may be required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, IT systems, or Engineering Technology (preferably electrical engineering). 8+ years of experience in concept engineering or serial development, including calibration and validation of software functions and calibration tools (ETAS, MATLAB). Experience in calibration processes, calibration on bench tests and vehicles, and data integration reflecting systems engineering, integration, and release processes. Experience in calibrating several OBDII functionalities. Experience evaluating OBDII failure simulation and corresponding emission calibration. Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and C programming source code. Motivated engineer with hands-on testing experience and a desire to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle design. Strong interpersonal skills, ownership, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical ability, teamwork, innovation, communication, and the ability to develop and thrive in cross-functional relationships.
