Medical Physicist
to support our client’s medical facility based in
Davenport, IA . This is a
full-time, direct-hire
opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Responsibilities
Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department Ensure equipment safety, quality patient care, and participate in teaching in accordance with regulatory agencies and medical community standards. Genesis offers SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, gaiting, SGRT, and 3D Conformal. Cancer Institute employs 2 linear accelerators: TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam. Record and verify performed through Aria. Eclipse and Tomoplan software used for planning. Participate in patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, plan checks, and additional support for Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists and therapists. Collaborate with a team that includes 2 Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, 8 Radiation Therapists, 3 RNs, 2 Office Secretaries, 1 Billing and Coding Coordinator, 1 Social Worker, and 1 Office Manager. On average, approximately 35 patients are treated daily on 2 machines and work with the Medical Oncology team. Work with the Chief of Physics on calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators, perform QA of equipment and treatment plans, and implement new technologies as needed. A good work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment are highly valued. The ABR and ABMP certify medical physicists who meet requirements; ABR certifies in diagnostic, nuclear, and therapeutic medical physics, while ABMP certifies MRI physics and medical health physics.
