ATI Specialty Materials is seeking a Senior Learning and Development Leader to design, develop, and implement a multi-year L&D strategy for the manufacturing hourly workforce, in addition to administering salaried development programs. This position reports into the HR organization with matrix reporting to the Operations organization and is located at our Monroe, NC facility.

The individual will lead the end-to-end development of hourly manufacturing L&D offerings including curriculum, design, program materials, facilitation plans, program costs, internal partnerships, vendor management, and program evaluation. The leader must collaborate with internal partners to ensure the effective use and management of the company’s Learning Management System and lead a matrixed team of training coordinators and SMEs to drive objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Determine and drive L&D strategy implementation, optimize program deployment and facilitation to ensure the most effective learning experiences across the organization. Set priorities based on business needs, resource availability and potential impact, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to deliver high quality, timely learning programs.

Manage and further build a portfolio of development offerings, including internal and externally designed programs and curated content across all locations. Lead the end-to-end development of scalable new programs that significantly enhance knowledge retention and performance outcomes.

Cultivate and manage a network of external development vendors ensuring access to high quality learning resources that scale with the organization’s changing needs.

Establish evaluation methods to assess the impact and effectiveness of training programs and utilize feedback and data to make evidence-based improvements that enhance learning impact.

Facilitate program sessions and courses and/or build internal organizational capability as needed.

Work with and support the company’s L&D COE on creation of enterprise-wide programs and represent the SM business unit’s needs in such discussions.

Demonstrate expertise in learning and development subjects such as gap assessment, selecting delivery mechanisms, and training delivery.

Maintain accurate and confidential records and data related to learning and development matters and help identify areas for improvement or intervention.

Work closely with subject matter experts to gain an in-depth understanding of the content and knowledge to be transferred to the targeted audience.

Provide talent development consulting and project implementation in support of business objectives.

Organize and execute complex programs and projects, delivering end-to-end results through successful program design and implementation.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

BA/BS in instructional design, human resources, or related field

Minimum of 7 years’ experience designing and delivering learning and development solutions for hourly manufacturing workforce including instructor led training, computer based training and web based training

5+ years’ experience in developing facilitator-led training, computer-based training, and web-based training

Preferred

Master’s degree in instructional design, human resources or related field

Certified professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Certified Learning and Development Professional (SLDP) or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) a plus

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a matrixed team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Expertise with adult learning theory and instructional design certification a plus

2+ years instructional design experience

Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively

Instructional design expertise: capable of leading a process to produce interventions addressing talent and business needs with a structured, aesthetically pleasing approach

Proven expertise in facilitating formal classes (ILT and CBT), and in managing meetings and group processes to achieve client/stakeholder objectives

Excellent communication skills with executive presence, including the ability to present to small and large audiences

Ability to consult, negotiate and manage projects to time, budget and requirements

Demonstrated success working in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities
