Altair is looking for candidates with a passion for Systems Engineering to join our Enterprise Computing support team. The candidate will work on state-of-the-art programs in areas including systems software, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing and DevOps. This includes integration and validation of various HPC applications, systems debugging and automation. Our team designs, develops and delivers solutions for our High Performance Computing (HPC) appliances and software. Our software stack runs on many of the top supercomputers around the world. We are a technically diverse team with opportunities for documentation, collaboration, mentoring and cross-training to keep us in top shape. Our team takes pride in helping our customers succeed. As part of this team, you will be responsible for reliability engineering, root cause analysis and escalation management for all HPC appliances deployed at client sites globally. This role requires multi-disciplinary skills spanning hardware subsystems to the complete software stack that operates the HPC systems. You will also be involved in customer deployments, upgrades and meetings, as well as industry trade shows. You will have the opportunity to contribute new ideas that could impact how we work with colleagues and customers. Responsibilities

Provide reliability engineering, root cause analysis and escalation management for HPC appliances deployed at client sites globally. Engage in customer deployments, upgrades and meetings; participate in industry trade shows as required. Develop and document system integration and validation processes for HPC software and hardware. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve performance, stability and user experience. Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and participate in cross-training initiatives. What You Will Need

2 to 4 years of experience in HPC system administration 4-year IT-related degree or equivalent certification Knowledge of networking and filesystems Understanding of scripting languages such as Unix/Linux shells, Python, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability and desire to learn new technologies and tools Outstanding problem-solving skills Self-starter with the ability to work proactively during quieter periods Availability for occasional travel Ability to analyze support requests and prioritize them based on impact Discipline to actively manage support requests and overhead tasks Ability to teach end users about IT technologies or solutions in an easy-to-understand way US Citizens only Preferred

Experience with HPC workload managers (PBS Pro, Grid Engine, LSF, Slurm, etc.) Experience with one of the public cloud platforms Experience maintaining and replacing server hardware How You Will Be Successful
