Street Lighting Electrician 3811 (B) (Revised 01/24/2025) Position: Promote open examination with six-month probationary period.
Responsibilities
Install, adjust, troubleshoot, repair and maintain wiring, lighting fixtures, outlets, signal systems, public address systems, electric motors and HVAC equipment.
Operate megohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, digital recorders, circuit tracers and ohmmeters.
Use and maintain control panels and computerized building, lighting and access control systems.
Drive City trucks to work locations and operate aerial lifts.
Prepare routine work records, reports and maintain safety procedures.
Qualifications
Seven years of electrical wiring experience, including two years at the journey level.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid California Class C driver’s license.
Knowledge of National and California Electrical Codes.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams.
Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
