Bechtel Corporation Requisition ID: 287695 Project Overview: Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest. Job Summary: Originate and check structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, material requisitions. Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction. Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues. Participate in technical meetings and perform intra-discipline coordination. Location and Working Arrangements: This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. Telework designation may be changed in the future at Bechtel's discretion. Major Responsibilities

Participates in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data to develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs) Prepares or participates in preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations, civil drawings, steel and concrete calculations, and material requisitions Checks manufacturers’ drawings and data for compliance with specification and design drawings Designs or participates in design for minor structures and portions of buildings Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals Assists in constructability reviews Education And Experience Requirements

University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge And Skills

Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now and in the future. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge) Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns—involving sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, risk countries, and other designated countries—are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
