Position Description:
Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Materials Engineer opportunity. Job Responsibilities: Perform a wide range of hands-on laboratory-based materials testing and characterization activities to support the reactor. Perform metallography and characterization for a wide range of metallic and ceramic materials. Generate test reports detailing test or characterization and resulting data to document new knowledge related to reactor design and qualification. Operate materials focused laboratory equipment (e.g., furnaces, polishing equipment, metallography equipment, SEM-EDS, etc). Assist with the design, fabrication, and operation of custom laboratory experiments. Perform formal receipt inspections of incoming materials, update inventory, and physically maintain the controlled material storage area. Job Qualifications: A Technology, Bachelors, or advanced degree with related experience, or equivalent experience. A degree in Materials Science/Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or a related technical discipline is desired. Demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience is required Metallography and SEM-EDS experience are required Lab management experience (e.g., maintaining spaces and/or equipment and training users) is preferred but not required Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 is preferred The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork. Job Type: Contract Pay Rate Range: $53-60/hr. Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status. Benefits Package:
