Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. This technical position involves coordinating and developing the Power System Planning & Study team, performing HVAC and HVDC planning/feasibility studies, interconnection studies, transient studies, and systems analysis investigations primarily in North America, but also globally. The role requires collaboration with other departments such as Substation Engineering, Transmission Engineering, Protection & Control Engineering, and Renewables, as well as with other divisions. Role accountabilities:
Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for various clients. Perform and review power systems analysis including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability, system impact, and reliability analyses. Conduct planning/system performance and transient studies to ensure compliance with standards and good engineering practices. Deliver accurate reports and system study deliverables that meet industry standards and specifications. Ensure quality assurance on client reports and deliverables. Coordinate with other Business Units and Practices for cross-selling and staffing; develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals. The role involves teamwork, effective communication, and up to 25% travel within North America and internationally. Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred At least 8 years of experience in power system study analysis and planning Proficiency with PSSE, PSCAD, and PSS/E software; experience with TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA is desirable Familiarity with North American Market Operators' policies and standards, especially related to grid interconnection and planning Preferred Qualifications
