Role Overview Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering and consultancy solutions. The Senior Power System Planning & Study Engineer will join the Power Delivery team in the USA and work on complex transmission and distribution projects.

Role Responsibilities

Support, develop and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for regulated, non‑regulated and developer clients.

Perform and review power systems analysis activities including load‑flow, short‑circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient and small‑signal stability analysis.

Perform planning / system performance studies and transient studies to comply with prevailing standards and good engineering practice.

Deliver accurate and thorough planning, studies, system design, report summaries and other client deliverables that meet industry standards and specifications with excellent constructability.

Responsible for QA on client reports and deliverables.

Maintain close coordination and help other relevant Arcadis Business Units and Practices for cross‑selling and cross‑staffing opportunities and develop project scopes, budgets and proposals.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum 8 years of direct experience in power system study analysis and planning.

Must be proficient with PSSE, PSCAD and PSS/E software packages including load‑flow, short‑circuit and transient stability analysis. Experience with alternative planning software (TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, DSA Tools) is highly desirable.

Must be familiar and experienced with key North American Market Operators (MISO, PJM, NE‑ISO, NY‑ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO) policies, guidelines, regulations, rules, model analysis, requirements and criteria applicable to grid interconnection, performance and planning.

Preferred: PE License.

Travel & Working Location Travel of up to 25% to client sites and customer meetings, both within North America and potentially internationally.

Salary Range $97,600 – $169,360 (actual salaries vary by experience, education, location, and internal equity).
