Overview

Manufacturing Supervisor (2nd Shift) at Mott Corporation is the frontline leader of a production team that makes very complex and highly reliable products with world-class speed and quality. The Manufacturing Supervisor manages daily manufacturing operations and helps implement a continuous improvement roadmap with the Production Managers to decrease lead time, improve quality, and make the company a fun place to work. Success in this role will be measured through improvements in safety, quality, lead time, and cost. Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of employees through consistent enforcement of safety policies (including 6S), proper training documentation, and ongoing compliance monitoring. Maintain and improve product quality by ensuring proper training, assessing employee competence, and monitoring defect levels. Achieve on-time delivery by maintaining staffing levels, reassigning employees as needed, and holding employees accountable to hourly output expectations. Overtime may be required (extended hours or weekend shifts). Maintain WIP inventory by executing the production schedule, ensuring proper inventory control and identification, and ensuring that work orders are completed accurately. Improve productivity by ensuring each employee adds value during the shift and meets expected hourly output of quality product. Uphold and promote Mott Core Values. Major challenges

Facilitating effective communication across shifts and ensuring smooth handoffs of tasks. Driving improvements in daily operations while maintaining delivery metrics. Managing rapid fluctuations in product mix and volumes with detailed planning. Expected performance outcomes

Safety: Identify and address safety issues promptly with complete and accurate incident and near-miss reporting. Zero recordables. Quality: Zero customer returns due to Quality; 50% year-over-year reduction in workmanship defects; 50% reduction in scrap. Delivery: 98% production schedule attainment. Inventory: Timely closure of work orders; 99% accuracy of inventory location and quantity. Cost: 95% labor efficiency versus standards. Required experience

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, or 10 years of direct supervisory experience. Proven success in problem solving and completing projects. Technical knowledge / skills
