R&D Engineer (Refrigeration) role at Watts Water Technologies. This position is in Fort Worth, TX and is in person. The role is part of the New Product Development team and reports to the R&D Integration Manager. Watts is a company focused on safe, clean water and innovative, sustainable water solutions. Primary duties include development of new products through testing, third party certification, troubleshooting, and field support for new products. Responsibilities

Lead meetings to review setup or testing needs for products. Lead NPD development testing of refrigeration products, based on guidance from the integration team and R&D special projects. Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and other documentation to set up equipment for testing. Build prototype heating products and perform testing; record results. Communicate with customers, representatives or service technicians via telephone concerning product and service issues. Calibrate and repair performance issues. Maintain certification and maintenance of equipment with third parties. Support in plant customer service, sales, tours, etc. Visit customers to provide on-site troubleshooting of product or service problems as needed. Assist Final Assembly area with problems occurring during assembly. Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the R&D Integration Manager or Company management. Engage in continuous improvement of a new and emerging field of research technology. Travel up to 25%. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology. Two plus years working in a new product development or R&D position. Knowledge of refrigeration or HVAC systems. Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable. Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including urinalysis, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications

Two plus years’ experience with R744. EPA 608 refrigerant certification. Knowledge of electronic controls and electromechanical devices. Knowledge of test instrumentation such as temperature, pressure and flow meters. Knowledge of plumbing systems and basic electrical systems. General Applicable Company Competencies

On-site at a manufacturing facility with most duties in an office environment. Occasional time on the manufacturing floor with required personal protective equipment. Office-based at the Fort Worth location (Monday – Friday). Work hours determined by the manager. Physical Requirements

Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods. Ability to move around the office and transport files or small equipment. Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks. Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to lift and carry light objects; stand for long periods of time. Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
