The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate\'s educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic II performs minor-skilled tasks such as repairs and adjustments necessary for proper operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing, among others, as directed by supervision. Problems in completing the assigned work should be reported to supervision immediately. Responsibilities Light bulb and fuse replacement Replaces ceiling tiles Repairs beds, desks, chairs, file cabinets, tables and other furniture Assembles cabinets, chairs, shelving, tables and other furniture Repairs doors Repairs to faucets and plumbing fixtures Clearing drains Repairs Nurse Call Systems Clean and service fixed and portable fans and air conditioners Repair kitchen equipment, dish washing machines, etc. Knowledgeable in the operation of computerized systems and related equipment and capable of making necessary adjustments (e.g., Pneumatic tube system, fire alarm, chlorine systems) Responds immediately to alarms throughout the facility Qualifications High School Diploma, Technical School graduate or equivalent; completion of apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training One to three years in building maintenance with background in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC equipment repair Valid New Jersey Driver’s License Additional Information RWJBarnabas Health is the most comprehensive health care delivery system in New Jersey, with a service area covering five million people.
