Overview
Manufacturing Engineer (Missile Assembly) role at Pike County Operations (PCO). You will contribute to producing world-class weapons systems in state-of-the-art production facilities and help create high-tech solutions in advanced missile manufacturing to meet next-generation warfighter needs. What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be solving technical issues on the production shop floor, creating and improving manufacturing processes and operations, integrating new innovative technologies into the factory, and developing digital applications to improve operator and support personnel productivity. Your responsibilities
Providing hands-on shopfloor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues. Analyzing engineering data to develop new manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions. Integrating new assets and technologies into the factory. Supporting area-wide continuous improvement initiatives driving quality and cost enhancements. Investigating root causes of quality defects and implementing effective corrective/preventative actions. Troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing process equipment and tooling. Collaborating with cross-functional teammates to achieve quality, schedule, and cost performance metrics. Mentoring early-career engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor-level degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, or 6+ years of related professional experience. Knowledge of general manufacturing processes with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated hands-on mechanical abilities to perform or assist in missile assembly and test, and repair of nonoperating tools and equipment. Desired Skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics; understanding of GD&T references. Experience developing Lean manufacturing processes compliant with government regulations, engineering requirements, and procedures. Ability to create and maintain manufacturing operator work instructions. Experience with manufacturing mechanical assembly, electronic testing methods, factory automation equipment, industrial safety processes, technical writing, and cross-team collaboration. Familiarity with DELMIA Apriso MES, PTC Creo, Windchill MPMLink, and SAP ERP tools. Security and Compliance
Selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start. Lockheed Martin will assist with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. The candidate must pass ATF background checks to obtain approval as an employee possessor as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain status may affect offers. EEO
