Mission Critical Electrical Engineer
to join our team. Working with us, you will:
Perform analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems for data centers, including power distribution, generators, UPS, grounding, and lighting systems. Experience with medium voltage (35-15KV) power systems is a plus. Independently provide a full range of electrical engineering services on small to medium-sized projects. Revise, review, and coordinate construction documents. Mentor and train junior staff. Develop solutions to challenging electrical power distribution issues in collaboration with integrated architecture and engineering project teams. Contribute to SmithGroup's sustainable design initiatives by using software to perform electrical loads, short circuit analysis, generator loads, and lighting calculations. An ideal candidate has:
A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for data centers, including experience with government, research labs, or higher education projects is a plus. LEED AP and Engineering-in-Training certifications are preferred; PE license in progress is acceptable. Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; experience with SKM systems is desirable. At SmithGroup, we prioritize our staff's growth and well-being.
