Overview

Pay rate range - $45/hr. to $50/hr. on W2. 100% Remote. We are seeking an exceptional Materials Engineer who combines analytical capabilities with technical writing. This person would be responsible for performing material selection assessments for space environments, investigating opportunities for materials' first continuous improvements, and authoring technical specifications or inspection plans. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in aerospace or medical device engineering and new product development. Responsibilities

Perform material selection assessments for space environments Investigate opportunities for materials\' first continuous improvements Author technical specifications or inspection plans Collaborate across disciplines to support new product development in aerospace or medical device contexts Qualifications

Required

Bachelor\'s degree in materials engineering, metallurgy, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related technical discipline 2 years of experience with materials selection, testing, and processing or fabrication methodologies in the aerospace or medical sector Preferred

Master\'s degree or PhD in materials engineering or related technical discipline Demonstrated ability to author, revise, and maintain technical specifications Knowledge of metallic and nonmetallic materials used in spaceflight hardware Experience with sheet metal fabrication, metallic coatings, and cleaning processes Familiarity with roll-to-roll processing, injection molding, thermal interface materials, or composite processing Proficiency in statistical analysis, experimental design, and procedure generation Experience with characterization techniques, including SEM, EDS, FTIR, DSC, TGA, LFA, rheometry, spectrophotometry, Optical microscopy, and Hardness testing Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Understanding of process variable interactions and their impact on material performance Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts across all organizational levels
