This position supports Project Managers, Engineers, and Acquisition Services across nuclear and non-nuclear projects within the laboratory's three main organizations: Science, Technology and Engineering; Weapons; and Operations. The role involves ensuring quality assurance and supplier quality management, including developing procurement packages, vendor communication, source verification, and assessments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities include: Reviewing procurement documentation related to quality assurance Developing and evaluating processes, procedures, and applications for quality management systems Participating in nonconformance reporting and corrective actions Conducting audits and surveillance of quality-related activities Minimum requirements: Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and fabrication practices, including NQA-1 and CGD Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings Experience in communicating across organizational levels and solving complex problems Proven planning, prioritization, and scheduling skills Experience in developing quality assurance programs and mentoring Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Experience in conducting and reporting audits and assessments Technical knowledge of precision machine assembly Proficiency with MS Office, VPN, and specialized software Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, QE, or related field, with 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination. Desired qualifications include:
ISO-9001 or NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification, procurement SME certification, experience with classified matter, and recognized QA certifications. Note: The position requires a Q clearance, U.S. citizenship, and compliance with federal employment restrictions. Work environment involves onsite work in Los Alamos, NM, with typical safety and protective gear requirements.
