Vehicle Management System (VMS) Engineer
to support the development and integration of advanced airborne systems. This position involves working across multiple disciplines to ensure system capabilities align with performance, airworthiness, and operational goals. Responsibilities
Analyze and review system architectures to define key capabilities and performance requirements. Establish design constraints and technology maturity levels in accordance with Government specifications. Recommend system implementation strategies and operational concepts. Evaluate system performance and verify requirements in collaboration with the customer. Lead VMS specification development, requirements definition, functional modeling, and testing activities. Apply broad engineering knowledge to resolve challenges in airborne radar technologies including receivers, transmitters, antenna design, resolution, mode techniques, and signal processing algorithms. Manage subsystem-to-VMS interfaces, including requirements traceability, design validation, integration testing, and progress reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of VMS design experience. Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516 (Airworthiness Certification Criteria) and MIL-STD-1796 (Avionics Integrity Program). Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Active Top Secret Clearance required. Additional Details
