The Office of Facilities and Safety in The Grainger College of Engineering seeks qualified applicants for the role of
Safety Engineer . This position is responsible for managing health and safety programs for The Grainger College of Engineering and providing risk management guidance and technical support to stakeholders. The position will develop, implement, and manage policies, programs and procedures that promote a safe, responsible and healthful learning and work environment for all Grainger Engineering faculty, staff and students. The incumbent will implement campus safety programs and promote practices to achieve program excellence in an atmosphere of continuous improvement. Responsibilities

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5013 - Safety/Environmental Compliance Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,000- $65,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. This position will be expected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on a full-time basis per the University’s Workplace Flexibility policy. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
