Field Service Technician, Crew Based, Commercial
Role location: Dallas, TX (travel is required; candidate should reside in contiguous United States [lower 48 states]).
What To Expect As a Commercial Field Service Technician, you will be empowered to work across the Tesla organization to problem solve and ensure the success of our Commercial Energy field service execution. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance services to Tesla’s commercial products such as solar PV systems, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging stations. The focus of this role would primarily be solar PV systems.
What You'll Do
Layout and assist in the assembly of solar modules/array, mounting hardware, and electrical equipment
Organize trucks for installs/removals for the upcoming day, ensuring everything is neat and organized
Perform required preventive maintenance activities on Commercial PV systems and capable of training/mentoring others in the team as needed
Respond to corrective maintenance cases on all commercial energy products and update online case logs accurately
Assist with addressing customers’ concerns regarding performance or functionality of their system
What You'll Bring
Minimum 2 years' experience with PV equipment and installation, preferably commercial or utility scale; strong knowledge of electrical wiring and the ability to read electrical plans and equipment manuals
Experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, and the ability to navigate multiple computer applications independently
Ability to work at great heights and in extreme environments; capable of lifting at least 50 lbs frequently
Ability to perform repetitious duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods; safely handle tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and related equipment
Ability to climb and work on site using ladders rated for up to 300 lbs; must meet OSHA fall protection standards and equipment requirements with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs
Valid driver’s license required
