Directs maintenance crews in the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of equipment used throughout the plant, facilities, and powerhouse equipment. Oversees maintenance processes to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flows and production lines running at maximum efficiency.
California Salary Range:
$100,000.00 - $124,000.00
Duties And Responsibilities
Food Safety & Safety: Perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards.
Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies.
Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics & Electricians in predictive & preventive maintenance and machine repair.
Develop, implement, and supervise maintenance systems, processes, and documentation associated with efficient and high performing manufacturing organizations.
Schedule maintenance and work closely with Production to accomplish equipment and facility repairs.
Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators for tracking maintenance performance.
Provide long‑term solutions and day‑to‑day support for operating teams troubleshooting equipment failures.
Train employees in proper work methods and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.
Provide regular status reports to the maintenance management team.
Review job packages for labor requirements, materials, parts, and priorities.
Distribute work orders directly to assigned workers.
Evaluate emergency work and create scheduled work orders.
Ensure appropriate resources for each planned job have correct skill levels.
Direct trades in the performance of approved maintenance jobs.
Monitor job quality and progress, interfacing with Production on schedule changes.
Assume responsibility for tasks in the absence of key personnel.
Flexibility to work non‑standard hours as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
3–5 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading training, coaching, and mentoring for less experienced staff.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and related applications.
Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boiler, compressed air, mechanical, and electrical fields.
Advance knowledge in PSM and RMP.
Strong leadership skills and decision‑making abilities.
Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and planning skills.
Must comply with all food safety and third‑party certification policies (SQF, Gluten‑Free, Organic, etc.).
Bilingual is a plus.
Working Conditions And Physical Effort
Daily exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, darkness and/or noise; seasonal extremes in temperature, wetness and humidity.
Physical risks such as mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards and electrical hazards.
Requires frequent walking, carrying packages up to 50 pounds, fine dexterity and kneeling on a daily basis.
