Overview
Warehouse Lead, 2nd Shift (PM) – $25.75/hour. The Warehouse Lead oversees the shipping and receiving department and is responsible for the proper handling of materials, adherence to safety procedures, and accurate and timely shipments and deliveries. They plan and assign work, covering receiving, storing, inventory, and shipping of materials and raw materials. Responsibilities
Food Safety & Safety: Always perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards; participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety. Ensure regulatory compliance (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations. Oversee proper loading and shipping of outgoing orders; verify quantities and product quality against requirements. Ensure all paperwork (orders, bills of lading, reports, etc.) is accurately completed. Enforce safety procedures; train team on equipment operation (forklift, electric lift, etc.). Complete team member injury investigations and timely, accurate reporting. Conduct scheduled safety inspections and submit observation cards. Coordinate incoming deliveries with purchasing agents; communicate damage or expired material to the appropriate department. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and freezers; ensure proper storage per warehouse layout. Notify Warehouse Manager of order shortages and damaged products; coordinate materials requisition with production (Corn and Flour departments). Delegate orders and tasks within the warehouse team; ensure FIFO product usage. Ensure company trucks are clean and follow safety procedures; manage breaks and meal periods for compliance. Maintain productivity, provide team performance feedback to the Warehouse Manager, and communicate team member schedules; submit attendance and time-off requests to HR. Actively participate in the Safety Committee. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements
Education/Certifications and Experience
High School Diploma or GED 2-3 years of relevant shipping and receiving experience 2-3 years’ experience operating forklift/industrial equipment 1-2 years’ experience using the company ERP system or similar software 1-2 years’ experience leading or supervising others (a plus) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus Proficient verbal and written communications Proficient math, analytical, and problem-solving skills Computer skills (MS Office) and ability to operate office equipment Ability to train, manage and motivate team; strong people skills and teamwork Initiative to correct deficiencies; ability to meet productivity and efficiency goals Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods Self-motivated with minimal supervision; reliable and punctual with schedule flexibility including weekends and holidays Compliance with attendance policies and safety/food safety certifications (SQF, gluten-free, organic, etc.) Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor performance for a regular group of employees, guiding safety, efficiency, and productivity. Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Continual standing/walking on hard surfaces; climbing stairs; bending, kneeling, reaching; lifting up to 50 lbs. Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks; exposure to cool or hot temperatures and noise. Must be able to stand for long periods and work in varying temperatures. Expectations
