Overview
STS Metals is a unified organization composed of five businesses serving the aerospace, medical, industrial, and space industries with a commitment to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and superior customer service. The maintenance lead will work closely with maintenance, operations, production, and quality within a fast-paced aerospace environment. The position is full-time and non-exempt.
Responsibilities
Assist Engineering and Operations Managers with R&D and improvement projects
Source outside contractors, obtain bids, schedule work, and assist with projects
Lead by example and delegate work assigned to the department
Mentor maintenance personnel across all aspects of the job
Demonstrate the highest level of leadership in all aspects of the job
Assist Management with departmental training, confined space, lockout / tagout, etc.
Perform regular preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to minimize downtime and support production goals
Assess mechanical / electrical repairs and perform repairs to restore service with minimal downtime, with limited supervision
Have basic skills using power / hand tools
Operate forklift
Knowledge of PLCs, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Prefer previous experience troubleshooting systems
Industrial furnace, boiler, and water treatment experience is a plus
Ability to follow directions and work as a team or individually
Comply with OSHA safety rules
Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Continued education in the field of current work
Industrial electrical experience
Good, dependable attendance with ability to work overtime on short notice
3–5 years of experience performing mechanical maintenance activities
Minimum 5 years of experience performing electrical maintenance activitiesExperience installing industrial equipment is a plus
Must be able to work safely around industrial equipment
Forklift experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
