Maintenance Planner

for a contract to potentially direct hire role with our mining client located approximately 40 minutes

Southwest of Tucson, Arizona

. Join a dynamic and safety-focused mining organization committed to operational excellence, career growth, and innovation. This role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient maintenance planning and execution across critical equipment and operations. What You’ll Do: Lead planning and scheduling efforts for maintenance activities in collaboration with departmental supervisors. Maintain the integrity of planning systems (e.g., SAP) to meet operational and scheduling goals. Support daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings; review, prioritize, and schedule work orders. Execute runtime forecasting processes and ensure reliable data for decision-making. Mentor junior planners on best practices in planning and scheduling. Partner with supervisors in job preparation and follow-up, including time spent in the field to verify materials and equipment availability. Develop and manage schedules in SAP and adjust as needed for real-time priorities. Participate in long-range planning, including major shutdowns, budget forecasting, resource needs, and job scoping. Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage warehouse inventory levels and ensure timely procurement. Prepare scopes of work for internal and external jobs and support vendor interactions as needed. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost control efforts for the maintenance department. Generate reports that measure key performance indicators and support management decision-making. Perform additional duties as required. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and 6+ years of field maintenance or planning experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial operations OR Associate degree in a technical field and 4+ years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline and 2+ years of related field maintenance experience. Strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling practices. Familiarity with mining and/or industrial equipment and operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. Prior experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment. Leadership or mentoring of planning teams. Local candidates preferred, non-local would be considered and provided with a daily living allowance during the contract period. Relocation would be required once hired direct.
