Field Service Engineer (Bilingual in Mandarin)
Field Service Engineer responsible for providing technical support and on-site service for Bodor Laser fiber laser systems. This role supports customers, offers technical advice, and delivers high-quality after-sales service in the field. Company Summary

Responsibilities Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing direct support for laser machines via phone, email, chat, and on-site visits. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, taking appropriate action to resolve customer issues. Track technical issues and incoming requests from customers. Manage schedules and follow up with customers in the territory to optimize laser usage. Perform mechanical repairs at the customer site and determine if special resources or parts are required. Read layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation. Develop and maintain a replacement parts list and ensure parts are in stock through communication with customers, staff, vendors and manufacturers. Identify safety issues on the machines and provide customer trainings. Write service and expense reports; conduct failure mode analyses and recommend upgrades. Assist with final integration and commissioning of complex automation projects as needed. Assist with heavy mechanical moves and loading/unloading of equipment as needed. Travel regularly within assigned territories. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience on automated CNC machines. Recent experience installing, repairing, and diagnosing automated CNC machines. 3+ years’ related experience on automated CNC machines or fiber laser machines. Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and test equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong technical writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and remote communications. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Mandarin Chinese reading and speaking ability is a plus. Residing in the Ohio area is preferred. Self-driven, responsible, able to work under pressure. Willingness and ability to travel locally and domestically; ability to lift 50 lbs.
