Field Service Engineer (Bilingual in Mandarin)

Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing support for laser machines via phone, email, chat and on‑site visits.
Assist personnel and customers with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, and take corrective action.
Track technical issues and incoming requests.
Manage schedules and follow up with customers to ensure optimal use of lasers.
Perform mechanical repairs at customer locations, determining if special resources or parts are needed.
Understand layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
Maintain a parts list, ensuring stock availability through communication with customers, staff, vendors, and manufacturers.
Identify and address safety issues on machines.
Provide customer training.
Write and compose service and expense reports.
Conduct failure mode analyses and recommend upgrades.
Assist with final integration and commissioning of complex automation projects.
Assist with heavy mechanical moves, such as loading/unloading equipment onto trucks.
Travel regularly within assigned territories.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, automation engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience on automated CNC machines.
Recent experience installing, repairing, and diagnosing automated CNC machines.
3+ years of related experience on automated CNC or fiber laser machines.
Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and use test equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong technical writing ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and remote communication tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Mandarin Chinese reading and speaking ability is a plus.
Preference for candidates residing in the Michigan area.
Self‑driven, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
Available for local and domestic travel as required.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
