Biologist - Fish & Wildlife (In Ofc 4 Days/Wk) – Georgia Power Company Join to apply for the Biologist - Fish & Wildlife (In Ofc 4 Days/Wk) role with Georgia Power Company. This position is part of the Cultural and Biological Resources Team within the Growth and Natural Resources group of the Environmental Affairs department. The successful applicant will be experienced in species and habitat management and will provide technical support on biological resources to Georgia Power's business units across Georgia. Job Responsibilities

Serve as the point of contact for the Growth and Natural Resources Team to Georgia Power\'s Lake Resource Offices at hydropower projects, including management of aquatic plants, water quality, shoreline wildlife permitting, etc. Provide subject matter support for FERC hydropower licensing project teams. Support Nuclear Regulatory Commission licensing and compliance studies. Provide biological issues support for company growth strategy, including new transmission, distribution, and generation. Manage external relationships with regulatory agencies, professional societies, educational institutions, and natural resources NGOs. Deliver scientific or general presentations on natural resources management on behalf of the company. Provide field support for company Biologists, Cultural Resources Specialists, and Natural Resources Permitting team as needed. Support company storm restoration efforts following large storm events. Qualifications

Education Bachelor\'s degree required, preferably in Fisheries and/or Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related fields. Advanced degree a plus. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience. Experience Conservation and management of fish, wildlife, or plant populations at or near industrial facilities. Management of wildlife or plant populations on behalf of federal, state, or local regulatory agencies. Management of wildlife damage to facilities and safety risk prevention. Experience with job-specific vehicles (boats, hauling/trailers, ATVs, etc.). Safe use of specialized sampling equipment (e.g., mist nets, electrofishing equipment). Interactions with public recreation resources (reservoirs, wildlife management areas, aquatic vegetation, parks). Research experience with fish and wildlife populations. Knowledge Knowledge of Georgia flora and fauna across ecoregions and habitat needs for species. Understanding of conservation and protection of rare, threatened, and endangered species, including Species of Greatest Conservation Need. Awareness of regulatory framework for fish and wildlife management (Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Clean Water Act, O.C.G.A Title 27). Working understanding of the electric power industry is a plus. Skills Strong written communication to convey technical information to nontechnical audiences. Strong verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. Strategic thinking for regulatory and operational analyses. Ability to adapt to flexible work environments, including night and weekend emergencies as needed. Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions. The position requires in-office presence at least four days per week, with one telecommuting day, subject to workload. This role requires DOT certification to tow trailers and weights over 10,001 lbs. Georgia Power fleet vehicle usage is required for selected candidate. Applicants must meet the following: At least one year of verifiable driving experience and a valid driver\'s license for the vehicle class. No driving privilege revocation in the prior 36 months; no major traffic violations within the prior 12 months; no pending major traffic charges at application. Consent to continuous monitoring of Motor Vehicle Record. Additional Information
