A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Health is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient. The RN Float nurse is expected to function independently in various care settings, including but not limited to: Med/Surg, ICU, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health Holding area, Same Day Care Unit, and Endoscopy. Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Experience:
Required: Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience in an acute care/hospital setting. Preferred: Experience in medical/surgical, emergency, behavioral health, or outpatient perioperative care. Licensure and Certifications:
Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license or Multi-State Nursing Compact. BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications as specified, with timeframes for completion. Additional training includes de-escalation, MOAB or CPI, and pediatric emergency assessment courses. Position Responsibilities:
Adhere to NCBON RN Laws and Rules. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Educate and counsel patients and families. Manage nursing care, supervise staff, and participate in performance improvement. Employment Details:
