PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist to join a growing practice serving a busy regional academic health science center and affiliated hospital network in East Texas. This is a full-time, hospital-based or hybrid hospital/academic role offering a diverse general surgical and cytology case mix, with potential opportunities to collaborate in academic, quality improvement, or public health initiatives.
There is strong support from subspecialty colleagues across the PathGroup network. The ideal candidate will bring excellent diagnostic skills, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to engage in teaching, outreach, or public health initiatives.

About The Practice & Institution
This is one of the region’s only academic health science campuses, housing schools of medicine and health professions.
The institution hosts the Public Health Lab of East Texas (PHLET), a registered Laboratory Response Network (LRN) reference laboratory handling bioterrorism and emerging pathogen testing across many East Texas counties.
The affiliated hospital network has over 500 beds and serves as the major referral system in the region.
Research and academic collaborations are possible through the campus’s Center for Biomedical Research and health science programs.
CAP-accredited laboratory operations, full histology and cytology support, and digital infrastructure are in place to support high-quality diagnostic practice

Key Responsibilities
General surgical pathology and cytopathology sign-out
Frozen section / intraoperative consultations as needed
May include support for ROSE if required by clinical teams
Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, case conferences, and quality programs
Opportunity to collaborate with the regional Public Health Lab of East Texas (PHLET) on specialized testing or outreach initiatives
Laboratory oversight, QA/QC, and liaison work with hospital/clinical staff
