Responsibilities
Oversee construction projects to ensure they are completed according to the contract. This includes observing construction, reviewing and signing documents, and communicating with MSA staff, contractors, and clients.
Communicate professionally with clients, contractors and build ongoing business relationships.
Perform engineering calculations for the analysis, study, and design of specific project aspects.
Utilize electronic tools such as GIS, models, BIM, and CADD for project analysis, study, and design.
Assist in creating cost estimates for projects.
Instruct technicians on drafting for the projects you design.
Conduct field investigations or inspections ranging from visual observations to detailed measurements using specialized equipment.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
Four years of relevant, post-graduate mechanical engineering experience
Required Knowledge And Skills
Knowledge of the philosophies, principals, practices, and techniques of engineering
Proficiency with digital tools, which may include Microsoft Office, GIS, BIM, and/or CADD
Advanced interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with colleagues
Creative problem-solving skills to solve new and challenging problems
Ability to mentor less experienced staff
The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
License
Professional Engineering License in IA with WI, IL, and MN preferred
Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from $88,871 to $142,194 per year, commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
