Position Summary Provide engineering support for the commissioning, engineering, and construction departments. This includes reviewing design documents and control drawings for potential issues, and providing recommendations and solutions as required.
Offer engineering expertise to troubleshoot and resolve problems during any phase of construction, commissioning, or retro-commissioning processes.
Validate HVAC Building Automation Systems (BAS) in support of the construction team and execute Brandt controls commissioning processes.
Support the engineering department with reviews, recommendations, and solutions for in-house design-build projects.
Perform functional performance testing and writing of all equipment and systems as needed per project.
What You’ll Do
Understand customer expectations and Brandt’s scope of work.
Review proposals from controls contractors for scope, compatibility, and completeness, providing feedback.
Coordinate sequences of operations in engineering contract documents and controls submittals.
Support construction teams in coordinating with controls contractors regarding project schedules, deficiencies, and work planning.
Install, wire, remove, design, maintain, and repair HVAC building automation systems as required.
Analyze data trends, identify system issues, and recommend improvements.
Assist in technical RFI writing.
Troubleshoot controls and engineering issues, providing solutions.
Coordinate with third-party commissioning agents for testing and performance validation.
Ensure safety compliance with company and site-specific programs.
Assist sales with scope development, estimating, and technical support for upgrades and retrofits.
Stay informed on latest trends and system enhancements to keep services leading-edge.
Perform additional tasks as needed.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
Experience in performance testing, validation, and troubleshooting of large HVAC and controls systems.
OSHA-30 or OSHA-10 certification.
Extensive knowledge of engineering design techniques and related disciplines.
Thorough understanding of Mechanical Building Codes and Standards.
Strong knowledge of pneumatic and DDC controls and design.
Excellent analytical, verbal, and technical writing skills.
Good time management and organizational skills, with ability to work independently and in teams.
Proficiency in MS Office.
What You Bring To The Table
4-year mechanical engineering degree.
Completed EIT testing.
PE license in progress or completed.
NEBB Certified Professional (preferred).
LEED-accredited Professional (preferred).
