POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is seeking a
Senior Electrical Engineer (Facilities)
to join our Facilities Electrical Group. The role supports multi-disciplinary teams on industrial and government projects, leading and executing electrical power components. Hybrid or remote work options are available for the right candidate. The position reports to an office in Boise, ID; Madison, WI; Minneapolis, MN; or Overland Park, KS. Responsibilities
Lead and execute electrical power components of projects, including creating and issuing construction drawings and specifications. Prepare bills of material, construction cost estimates, power system studies, and technical reports. Demonstrate solid design knowledge in grounding, lightning and surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, generation (prime and standby), motor control centers and switchgear, medium voltage substations, mission-critical power systems, and UPS systems. Apply NEC, NFPA, ICC, energy codes, and IEEE standards; model electrical systems and run power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower (strongly preferred). Lead and mentor junior staff; communicate effectively with internal and external clients; coordinate with multiple discipline leads and project managers. Develop accurate engineering effort estimates, prepare client proposals, and drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule. Interface with clients and vendors; travel to client and vendor sites as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Professional Engineer license with the ability to be licensed in additional states. U.S. citizenship. Approximately 10 years of extensive experience in design and specification of low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, and related systems for industrial and commercial facilities. Ability to perform all electrical engineering tasks for proposals, design and drafting, calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and construction support. Strong teamwork skills with multiple discipline leads, PMs, and others; capable of coordinating or leading electrical efforts across project teams. Mentoring ability for junior or mid-level electrical engineers and designers. Solid AutoCAD and/or Revit design and drafting skills. Excellent oral and written communication, and ability to coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams and clients. Proven ownership of electrical project scope and ability to drive teams and clients to successful outcomes. Ability to promote and market electrical scope and personal skills to new and existing clients. Desired Education/Experience
Experience in Food & Beverage industry. Prior Consulting/Engineering Services experience. Experience with capital projects as a direct employee of a manufacturing company. Project management experience. Autodesk REVIT experience considered a strong plus. Interest in managing a group of direct reports. Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $139,000.00 - $259,000.00 per year.
